Description:
Appearance: Light grey or white powder. Melting point: 173-175 degree C. Stable in neutral, weakly acidic and weakly alkaline media, rapidly hydrolysed to the hydroxy-derivate in strong acids and alkalis, soil td50 is 100 days.
Usage:
A s-triazine-ring herbicide that is used globally to stop pre and post emergence broadleaf and grassy weeds in major crops. Atrazine binds to the quinine-binding protein in photosystem II, inhibiting electron transport. Atrazine is one of the most widely used herbicides.
